Manifest name and short_name browser support

Published

The name and short_name manifest members label an installed PWA: name in install prompts and app lists, short_name where space is limited, such as under a home-screen icon.

The table covers the members as recorded in MDN browser-compat-data; the Chromium rows note that one of the two is required for a web app to be installable.
